More from Alan Burns’ third annual study of women who listen to CHR and adult top 40: “Most women have never visited their favorite station’s website.” He suggests that “some stations are doing some things right,” and that over the last two years, there has been an annual growth rate of 12.5% in terms of weekly cume to station websites. But most of the women in the 2,000-person study say they either “don’t need it” or “don’t think of it as a place to go on the Internet.” One issue is that women don’t find station webbies particularly satisfying, because there aren’t enough elements they want. Burns says that “women who have visited their P1 station’s website don’t rate it poorly, but they rate their favorite website or service much higher.” Conclusion: Radio sites “aren’t bad, but they may not be compelling enough in the context of everything else available online.” Burns and Associates hosts today’s Thursday free webinar live from the Conclave in Minneapolis. The series is presented by Triton Digital, and you can register for the 3:30 p.m. Eastern time session here.
